Developments at Arlington Municipal Airport

Together with multiple interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams across the City of Arlington:

  • Produced the financial analysis leading to determine the probability of success in the City’s purchase of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the Arlington Municipal Airport

  • Instrumental in the development of the City’s new Aviation Fund, combining the FBO operation with the City’s aviation budget which had been housed in the General Fund

  • Helped develop an aviation financial analyst position, then interview and select, onboard, and train the new financial analyst

  • Deep analysis in the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) financials to help the team determine how to financially structure the E-space project resulting in $115m investment

Transparency Stars

For the City of Krum, a Mayor-Council, general law city (which later became a home-rule city):

  • Provided financial oversight and leadership for the town’s eight department heads (at the time there was no city administrator; I reported directly to the Mayor and elected officials), and had a 3-person team including myself

  • Duties included budgeting of $6m, accounting, purchasing, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, annual audit, monthly financial reports to City Council, and many other ancillary duties

  • 40+ funds included general government, enterprise, restricted revenues, debt service, and capital investment

  • 50+ employees payroll

  • Served on the City’s home rule charter committee

  • Upon departing, convinced the Mayor and elected officials to hire a City Administrator/CFO to better lead a unified City financial and strategic investment strategy
